How might we engage the texts being used for Sunday worship in homes before or after they are preached? How might families have deep conversations and activities about these biblical passages with just the materials that they likely have around the house?
Drawing on some of the conversations we have been having on the Hope4CE Facebook group, I thought it might be helpful at this time to provide some resources that you might send to families within your congregations. This also may be something you wish to send to smaller churches within your middle governing body, who may not have contact with a Christian educator to provide resources for home use for their congregation during this time.
So…each Monday there will be a one-page sheet that looks briefly at the four Revised Common Lectionary passages for the following Sunday and provides some ideas that families can share together to engage these biblical texts that require little to no materials. If you’d like to receive these, just let me know through Facebook or the contact page for this website. You’ll find the one for next Sunday, May 3, 2020 below. Feel free to edit or make it look pretty before passing it on to others.

Is there a way to share this on our presbytery’s Facebook page?
Thanks, Cheryl

Cheryl, You can do it one of two ways for this post. You can either copy the url and just insert it into a post on your presbytery’s Facebook page or you can share the post that is on the Hope4CE page (not the one in the group). If you’re talking about sharing the Word file each week, you can just download this from the Facebook group when I post it on Mondays and then upload it to your presbytery Facebook page. I notice that you also have a wordpress site, so you can also share it through that. Hope all is well with you!

This is going to be so helpful for me/us/church! I just created a simple webpage (instead of an email) for families. I have one page set up for each lectionary sunday with links. Thank you! Allison Kelly
