Family Advent Activities

How do we help children find the excitement of Advent in an increasingly anxious and isolating world? My colleagues and I decided to remind the children and ourselves that waiting for Jesus is holy at home. So this year, we are asking families to have a “found” Advent-Christmas-Epiphany season.

The families will center their expectations at home using a special Children’s Advent Guide created just for this season (see file below). Then families will gather on Sunday mornings by Zoom ™ to sing, play, and pray around this family centered Advent practice.  Wednesdays offer gatherings around Facebook Family Devotional videos to remember together that God meets us where we are.  On Christmas Eve-Eve we will gather to remember the Christmas Story of Luke 2:1-7 and to celebrate Holy Communion.

Someone’s coming!  Who’s coming!

Jesus is coming.
